On a beautiful evening at St. Thomas, our parish community came together for the first-ever Rosary Street Procession, and what a memorable night it was! Over 100 parishioners of all ages joined in this joyous occasion, accompanied by our three parish priests, seminarians, and supported by 5+ ministries along with the dedicated parish team.
Families with children, young adults, and our beloved senior parishioners walked side by side, united in prayer and fellowship. Father Roger, playing guitar, and Henny Theodorus, our music ministry lead, directed a small choir, singing the heartfelt refrain of "Ave, Ave, Ave, Maria!" as the procession made its way through the streets. Alec Petesic, our Rosary lead, guided everyone through the prayers with the help of a mobile speaker, ensuring that every voice joined in this sacred moment.

The evening was a true display of teamwork and collaboration. Thanks to the kind assistance of the police, the roads were kept clear, ensuring everyone's safety as we walked for 30 minutes. The beauty of the event was elevated by the sky changing from the glow of sunset to the calm of night, with every parishioner holding a candle alongside the Rosary. The Statue of Our Lady of the Rosary, carried with reverence, seemed to shine with a presence that filled us all with peace and warmth.

Upon returning to the church, we received a final blessing from Father Jose, rounding off the procession with a prayerful close. Our hospitality ministry, led by Marie Harris, prepared light refreshments for all, and to everyone’s delight, parishioners from the Rosary group surprised us with delicious spring rolls and fried rice. Laughter, good food, and conversations filled the air, creating a spirit of community that lingered long into the night. It wasn’t until Father Jose gently reminded everyone of the late hour that we finally wrapped up a night that no one wanted to end. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Adeline Kassis for handling the paperwork and coordinating with police and legal parties to make the procession possible.

This first-ever Rosary Street Procession received tremendous positive feedback, with many parishioners expressing their hope to make it a regular event. Father Jose listened to their requests and joyfully announced that this procession will now become one of our annual events for the Lower North Shore Parish.
We are incredibly grateful for this meaningful collaboration, and we thank everyone who made this event such a beautiful success. Let’s continue to walk together in faith and fellowship as we look forward to more special moments like this in our parish.
A Week of Rosary Prayer Strengthens Parish Bonding

Over the past week, our parish has come together each night for a deeply meaningful 1-week Rosary prayer, and it has been a true testament to the strength and unity within our community. With more than 50 parishioners turning up every evening, the daily prayer sessions were filled with devotion and grace. Many parishioners even brought their own statues of Our Lady of the Rosary, adding a personal touch to the collective prayers and deepening the sense of togetherness.
This 7-day Rosary prayer was not only a time for prayer and reflection but also a vital spiritual journey that prepared us, in both soul and mind, for the Rosary Street Procession. Each night, as we prayed together, the atmosphere was one of peace, support, and shared faith, reminding us of the importance of being spiritually ready for such a significant event in our parish.
The overwhelming turnout and the heartfelt participation we witnessed during this week of Rosary prayer show just how much our community values its bond with one another. Together, we have strengthened our faith, supported one another, and readied ourselves for the next steps in our shared journey of prayer and devotion.
Thank you to all who attended and made this week such a beautiful expression of faith. Your dedication and presence have made this experience a truly unforgettable one for our parish.
