Our Story
It all started with a simple question: What more can we do to care for our parish and God’s creation?

In early 2025, a small group of parishioners from the Lower North Shore Parish began to notice the quiet beauty of our church grounds, and also the growing need to care for them. We saw tall grasses, scattered litter, and unused spaces that had once been vibrant with life. More importantly, we felt the call of Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’, reminding us that caring for the Earth is not just an option, it’s a core expression of our faith.

So, one Saturday morning in May, a handful of parishioners came together with gardening gloves, tools, and most of all, hearts full of purpose. What was meant to be a few hours of tidying up turned into a joyful gathering, filled with stories, laughter, teamwork, and the delicious aroma of barbecue at the end.

From that day, the LNS Green Team was born—not just as a group, but as a mission. We are men and women, young and old, united by our desire to care for our parish grounds and deepen our community’s awareness of environmental responsibility. We meet regularly not just to clean and plant, but to inspire others to see creation as a gift worth tending.
