Mark the beginning of Mass and other liturgical celebrations
-
Call the community to worship and prayer
-
Celebrate weddings, feasts, and special occasions
-
Honour the departed and accompany moments of remembrance
Who Can Join:
-
Anyone with a love for liturgy, tradition, and teamwork is welcome! No prior experience is needed, just a willingness to learn and serve. Training and guidance are provided for all new members.
-
Join us and become part of this joyful and sacred tradition.

Our History

Bell Ringing at LNS

Bell ringing practice at St Leonard’s is on Wednesday nights from 6.30 to 8 pm, while the bells are rung on Sundays from 9.50 to 10.30 am and 5.20 to 6 pm. Under the expert teaching of ringing master Thomas Perrins, the ringers are challenged to keep learning and keep striving for excellence, while having lots of fun at the same time.
The bells are rung by a group of parishioners and local residents, men, and women, young and old. Bell ringing provides physical and mental exercise and the opportunity to work together as part of a team. It’s about challenging oneself, creating community and having fun.

When We Serve

Bell ringers serve before Sunday Masses, major feast days, solemnities, parish weddings, funerals, and special celebrations.
New ringers are always welcome. You will need to be committed to regular practice as it does take some time to learn to handle a bell safely, after which you can be assured of a lifetime of learning in the art.
