Proclaimers of God's Word

“Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” – Romans 10:17

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Jn 1:1

Proclaiming the Word of God is both a privilege and a sacred duty.

When the Scriptures are read aloud during Mass, it is God Himself who speaks to His people. The one who proclaims—often called a lector—has the special role of helping the congregation hear and receive God's Word with reverence.

This ministry carries significant responsibility. At every liturgy, the proclaimer becomes a vital link between the Word of God and the people of God, allowing Scripture to come alive as the Living Word in the hearts of the faithful.

Effective proclamation involves more than reading—it requires regular spiritual and practical preparation. Through careful practice and prayerful reflection, the proclaimer ensures that the readings are not only heard clearly, but understood and embraced by the community. In this way, the Word of God can take root and bring transformation to all who listen.

If you feel called to serve in this meaningful way—as a Proclaimer of the Word—we invite you to consider this ministry with commitment and devotion.
