Cuppa, Conversations, and Christmas Cheer at LNS Parish

Last Wednesday, 17th of December, shortly after the 9 am Mass at St. Thomas’ Church, the Church Hall in Willoughby came alive with laughter, festive decorations, and the unmistakable warmth of community. Our LNS Parish Cuppa and Conversations Christmas Party and Carols was a wonderful mid-morning celebration, bringing parishioners together to share joy, friendship, and the true spirit of the season.

The event was lovingly organized by our legendary parishioner, Marie Harris, whose dedication and generosity made this gathering possible. Parishioners from all three of our church communities came together, reflecting our motto: Together, in Christ’s love, for others.

From the first moments, the hall was buzzing with conversation and cheer. Tables were laden with an abundance of food—home-made treats, festive goodies, and shared dishes that showcased both culinary talent and generosity of heart. With cups of tea and coffee in hand, old friends reconnected and new friendships were formed, creating a true sense of family.

The morning was filled with games, simple raffles, and prizes, adding laughter and light-hearted fun to the celebration. Joy and smiles were everywhere, proof that community thrives not just in prayer, but also in shared moments of fun.

A highlight of the gathering was Christmas carol singing, led by Fr. Vincent and Fr. Roger. With everyone joining in, voices and hearts united in beloved carols, reminding us why this season is so special in parish life.

Adding to the morning’s joy, members of our Parish Office staff—Dionne, Ursula, and Ramil—joined the festivities, along with our seminarians Victor and Luka. Their presence highlighted the shared ministry and teamwork that keeps our parish community vibrant and welcoming.

More than anything, this mid-morning celebration was a reminder of who we are as a parish family: people coming together to laugh, sing, share, and simply be present to one another. In a busy world, these moments of bonding are a true gift.

As the gathering came to a close, hearts were full, spirits lifted, and gratitude abundant—for the organizers, the volunteers, the musicians, and everyone who joined. The Cuppa and Conversations Christmas Party and Carols was a joyful way to celebrate the season and prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ.
