On Thursday, June 20th, St Thomas' Catholic Primary School celebrated the official opening of its newly refurbished facilities. The event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Most Rev Anthony Randazzo, Bishop of Broken Bay; Mr. Danny Casey, Director of Schools Broken Bay; Mr. Jerome Laxale, MP Federal Member for Bennelong; and Mr. Dallas McInerney, CEO of Catholic Schools NSW.
The refurbishment project, which commenced in Term 4 of 2022 and was completed in January 2024, represents a significant cost of investment in the future of Catholic education at St Thomas'. The project has provided the school with modernized classrooms, an enhanced library, improved staff offices, resting areas, and a new meeting room, creating a conducive environment for both students and staff.
Bishop Anthony blessed the new facilities with holy water and offered a compelling speech, emphasizing the importance of these improvements. "All these facilities are crucial for Catholic education," he said, "but the most important aspect is having YOU, the students, inside enjoying your learning."
Fr. Jose Philip was acknowledged for his unwavering support throughout the building project. His dedication, along with the contributions of all key stakeholders, has been instrumental in bringing this vision to life.
This special occasion was captured in photographs, highlighting the key moments and speeches of the stakeholders. The St Thomas' community is grateful for the support and collaboration that made this project possible, and they look forward to utilizing these state-of-the-art facilities to enhance the educational experience for all students.
