✨ Celebrating Service: Our LNS Volunteers Appreciation Dinner ✨

ree

Last Friday evening, 21 November 2025, our Catholic Parish of Lower North Shore community gathered on the grounds of St Thomas Primary School for a night filled with gratitude, joy, and heartfelt appreciation. The occasion was our LNS Volunteers Appreciation Dinner, and it was nothing short of wonderful. The evening was blessed with a large turnout, reflecting just how vibrant and committed our volunteer family truly is.

The atmosphere was vibrant from the very first arrival. Setting the tone for the evening, Paul Quiap and Fr. Roger Delmonte delighted us with a heartfelt serenade of both secular and Christmas songs, beautifully ushering in the night’s festivities. Conversations flowed easily, laughter echoed across the grounds, and everywhere you looked you could see the faces of people who have given so much of themselves—week after week, month after month—to serve others in Christ’s name. Tables beautifully decorated offered a welcoming space to reconnect, share stories, and simply enjoy one another’s company.

The dinner itself was a delight, featuring generous servings of delicious food mostly prepared by our Sacramental Coordinator Jade Tran that quickly turned strangers into friends. Volunteers from every ministry mingled: those who serve in hospitality and outreach, catechists, choir members, sacristans, pastoral caregivers, the maintenance and green teams, and so many others who help our parish thrive behind the scenes. All gathered around one truth: our parish flourishes because of the loving hands and humble hearts of our volunteers.

A highlight of the night was the heartfelt recognition of service. Words of gratitude were shared—not only from parish leadership, but also from members of the community who have been touched by the kindness and dedication of our volunteers. It was a reminder that while each person may serve quietly, the impact of their efforts radiates widely.

What made this evening truly special was its spirit of unity. Beneath the gentle glow of the evening lights, we weren’t simply attending an event—we were sharing a profound moment of belonging. From the photo booth set-up by Inness Chu, the lively games prepared by Ramil de Asis, to the inspiring choral presentations by parish choir groups, and even the raffles woven between heartfelt speeches, every detail added joy and wonder to the celebration. Together, we honored not only what we do, but who we are: a community rooted in Christ’s love and poured out in service to others.

As the night slowly came to an end, many lingered, reluctant to leave the good company and uplifting atmosphere. It was clear that this was more than a social gathering; it was a family reunion of hearts.

To all our volunteers—thank you. Your generosity is a living testament to our parish motto: “Together, in Christ’s love, for others.” May God continue to bless your service and inspire many more to follow in your footsteps.
